Whether you're a beginner with a dream to finally plant your first garden, or an experienced gardener who wants to spruce up your outdoor space, this workshop is for you. 🤲🏼🌱
Taught by Kristin Thomas of Taking Root Garden Design, this 3-hour workshop will equip you with all the knowledge you need to plan and create a gorgeous fall or spring garden in your own space!
Start the morning with some complimentary freshly-made cinnamon rolls and coffee ☕️ as you enjoy a lovely stroll around the farm with Kristin to see the flower fields with co-owner of Kindred Farm, Christine Bailey. You'll then dive into a fun and exciting learning time with Kristin.
From vegetables and herbs to flowering perennials and shrubs, you'll learn how to plan, lay out, and plant a garden from start to finish. With over twenty years of experience in landscape design and horticulture, Kristin will share her diverse plant knowledge of native, edible, and ornamental species. You'll learn how to create a productive and harmonious garden, whether that's in containers, raised beds or across a larger area.
In this hands-on workshop, Kristin will lead you through the following:
Questions to consider when planning your own garden
How to create the ideal site for your garden
How to choose the right plants for your garden such as edibles, cut flowers, herbs & perennials
How to gather your basic supplies (materials for raised beds, soil/compost, basic tools)
End the workshop with Q & A with Kristin so you can get all of your burning questions about gardening answered!

Workshop is from 9am-noon - please come to our big white barn on the hill when you arrive. Parking is available in front of the barn.

This is a hands-on workshop - please wear clothes & shoes that are suitable for getting dirty and walking around the farm.
